Correction on Storm Surge: Hurricane Milton – BBCA Advisory #1
Please see corrected storm surge estimations highlighted in red.
Dear Bonita Bay residents,
Southwest Florida is officially under a hurricane watch. Hurricane Milton has rapidly intensified to a Category 5 storm. The National Hurricane Center is predicting storm surge of 5 -10 feet in Lee and Charlotte County and 4 – 7 feet in Collier County. There is very high probability of flooding. Please check your flood zone area here.
Currently, the BBCA has implemented the following:
BBCA Administration: All BBCA offices will close today, October 7 at 2 p.m. and remain closed until conditions are safe for staff to resume operations. Admin staff are answering resident calls remotely today until 5 p.m.
Activities Center is closed.
Beach: Beach operations remain suspended.
Community Patrol: The Main Gate, North Gate, and Call Center will remain staffed until winds reach 45 mph. Upon wind conditions deteriorating, patrol staff will follow Lee County Emergency Safety guidelines and remove the gate arms. At that time, the Main and North gates will be unmanned.
The Commercial Gate will be closed on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday,
Grounds Maintenance: All equipment and assets have been relocated. The pickleball sound barrier at Riverwalk Park has been taken down. Items at the parks have been stored and secured.
If you have not already done so, please finalize your preparations.
