A Message from Gulf Breeze RE: Hurricane Milton
Posted: October 10, 2024 • Category: Alerts
Today, Gulf Breeze is evaluating our properties as well as possible. Several properties on Bonita Beach, Vanderbilt Beach, and Fort Myers Beach are unable to be fully evaluated today as access to the area is restricted to residents only or completely inaccessible. There was significant storm surge on the beaches and in several other locations. Expect to hear from your Board of Directors, Hurricane Committee, or Property Manager with specifics for your individual community. With the exception of the properties on the beach or that were impacted by storm surge, we have not seen signs of catastrophic damage on our first pass.
There is a lot of debris on the roads and driving is hazardous as many lights are out and people are not treating them as 4-way stops. If you do not need to drive, please don’t. About 30% of customers in Lee County are without power, and about 25% of customers in Collier County are without power. GULF BREEZE MANAGEMENT HAS NO BETTER WAY TO DETERMINE WHEN POWER WILL BE RESTORED THAN THE UTILITY PROVIDER.
Many areas are having difficulty with sewers being overwhelmed, please follow the local news for specific updates on the services that are currently impacted.
Gulf Breeze Management will be open tomorrow, October 11, at 8:30 AM. Our emergency number is for emergencies only. Please do not call the emergency number to get updates on your property.
Sincerely,
Aharon S. Weidner
General Manager
